SUSTAINABLE PLAINS
Natural, Organic and recycled yarns: the future of eco-friendly fabrics.
As part of the ILIV Plains range, these sustainable plains are available to all Halis customers.
We are pleased to announce the new SS22 Sustainable Plains collection from ILIV, this range has been consciously developed to minimise its environmental impact.
Eco-conscious fabrics are a trending topic as it is one of the largest polluting industries in the world. This is having a huge detrimental impact on the environment, in terms of air pollution, solid waste pollution and water pollution. The main environmental problems caused by the textile industry include air pollution, solid waste pollution and water pollution.
The textile industry accounts for 10% of global carbon emissions and globally each year about 90 million items of textile waste ends up in landfills. The industry uses millions of gallons of water every day for washing, bleaching, dyeing and cleaning the product, and unfortunately quite often the wastewater is not treated to remove pollutants before being disposed of, this accounts for 20% of all freshwater pollution. More critical than ever, we are aware of the environment impact this will have for future generations to come.
This new range from ILIV minimises the environmental impact with a new approach to production, featuring innovatively developed fabrics which use a variety of sustainable yarns including recycled polyester, bamboo viscose, BCI cotton and organic linen, the collection is designed with a care for the environment and is crafted to last.
