Everyone’s talking about... Window treatments and soft furnishings play a key role within home design, they are the jewellery of the room and can create real impact and set the tone of a scheme. With this in mind, we thought we’d share some of the key trends set for 2022. From the growing importance of sustainable materials to the celebration of individuality, our interior design edit will provide an insight into the forecasts for spring/summer this year. This season we see some new colours, new textures, and new materials, but most importantly, there are new moods. As we emerge from the last two years of uncertainty, which seems to be continuing under a new guise, the way we want to live our lives has altered and how we want to spend time in our homes has changed too. We’re all craving a better outlook and we’re looking to surround ourselves with things that make us feel happy, which brings us nicely to our first trend....

DESIGNED BY NATURE
A more grounded pace of life and deeper connection to the natural world are blended with inventive nature-inspired design in this trend. Designs are warm, open, and inviting.
After a period of isolation and restrictions, it’s no surprise we’re drawn to landscape-inspired tones. This season’s colours are driven by a desire to be uplifted and energised whilst staying balanced.
Interiors brim with natural textures and materials and reflect a carefree, wholesome approach through tactile imperfect shapes and casually rumpled textiles. This desire to reconnect with the outside has also inspired a resurgence in natural surfaces, stoneware, terracotta, marble, and travertine are featured across an array of products from backsplashes to bathtubs, and decorative objects. The raw, porous, imperfect nature of these organic materials adds depth and visual intrigue while also mimicking the calming, restorative ambiance of the outdoors.
This lure back to nature has also sparked an interest in large trees at home, elegant fauna which is not only aesthetically pleasing but helps to purify the air too.
